Des Moines Register: The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association’s annual quest for Iowa’s best hamburger ended this week in the country crossroads Beebeetown, where the Twisted Tail Steakhouse & Saloon took top honors. The restaurant, owned by Ed and Ruth Spencer since 2011, is about 20 miles north of Council Bluffs. Its menu features burgers served in 11 different styles, from plain to the “AM” with bacon, egg and cheese, each made from 8 ounces of 80% lean ground chuck that’s been sourced from local cattle producers.
