Chris Honkomp, a tax partner with Bergan, Paulsen & Co., has been elected as the new managing partner of the certified public accounting firm. He succeeds Dave Happel, who has served as managing partner since 1988 and will retire this year. Bergan Paulsen entered the Central Iowa market in January 2013 when it merged with Johnston-based Gegner Co. P.C.  The regional firm has five offices in Iowa and a sister company, Network Solutions, that offers information technology services. Honkomp, who has been with the firm since 1998, has a degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and works in the Cedar Rapids office.
