Don Nickerson, regional bank president of Northwest Bank in West Des Moines and Ankeny, announced that Richard Bergez has accepted the position of bank president in Ankeny. Before joining Northwest Bank, he was employed at First American Bank in Boca Raton, Fla., where he led the commercial banking team. As Ankeny president, Bergez’s responsibilities will include team development, coordinating bank involvement within the community, and building lasting retail and business relationships. He and his wife, Loretta, live in Ankeny and have three grown children. In the community, Bergez currently serves as treasurer for the Central Iowa Boy Scouts and is a volunteer fundraiser for Variety — the Children’s Charity’s annual telethon. His past involvement includes being board chair for Living History Farms and Central Iowa Red Cross.
