Heather Townsend-Macan has joined BKD CPAs & Advisors as a partner in the firm’s Des Moines office. She joins BKD National Commercial Services Group, where she will provide leadership for audit and advisory services for clients in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, food and agriculture, telecommunications, technology, transportation, energy and retail. She was previously with Grant Thornton LLP for 27 years. Her experience encompasses a variety of significant financial and reporting functions including financial reporting, international operations, acquisitions and divestitures, internal controls, taxation and operational controls. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and an MBA from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Mo. She is a licensed CPA and member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Missouri Society of CPAs.
