Blank Park Zoo unveils new Bankers Trust Learning Center
The Bankers Trust Learning Center at the Blank Park Zoo reopened Thursday afternoon after a $40,000 contribution from Bankers Trust Co. led to a renovation of the area. The building, originally built in 1966 as a space for birthday parties, now features more interior space; restored classroom, restroom and storage areas; new lighting; refurbished walls and floors; and improved electrical and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Mark Vukovich, CEO of the zoo, said the Bankers Trust Learning Center will benefit more than 1,000 students involved with summer camps, school groups and toddler programs. The facility also will be used for special events and rentals, such as birthday parties and board meetings.
