Ames-based BodyViz yesterday sold one of its machines to Teikyo University in Japan, less than 30 days after signing a distribution agreement with Japanese-based OPT Technologies.

BodyViz machines create three-dimensional MRI/CT scan visualizations out of 2D images. “BodyViz is so totally, visually impressive,” said Dr. Naoki Kondo from Teikyo in a BodyViz news release.

BodyViz software was created by Visual Medical Solutions LLC in Ames, which won the $25,000 first-place award in the John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition.

The software has also been featured on the NBC television show “The Biggest Loser.”
