Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa announces 2023 Youth of the Year

The title recognizes outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to a healthy lifestyle. Delanee will now compete for the Iowa Youth of the Year title and a $2,500 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Delanee, who has been a Club member for six years, is an exceptional student and musician who participates in numerous after-school activities. The Youth of the Year program, which has been in place for almost 80 years, recognizes young people on their journey to successful futures. If Delanee is named Iowa Youth of the Year, she will compete for the title of Midwest Regional Youth of the Year and an additional $20,000 college scholarship. The National Youth of the Year will receive a $50,000 scholarship and a brand-new Toyota Corolla. The Youth of the Year program is sponsored by Toyota and Mondelēz International, both of which are committed to helping local Boys & Girls Clubs provide life-enhancing opportunities for children and teenagers to develop essential skills that will help them succeed in life and work.
