Branstad appoints Transportation 2020 commission
Gov. Terry Branstad on Tuesday appointed 12 individuals to the Governor’s Transportation 2020 Citizen Advisory Commission. The commission will provide input into the finalization of a study of road use tax revenue that could shape Branstad’s decision on whether to increase the state’s gasoline tax. Central Iowa residents named to the commission include Scott Cirksena, Clive; Geri Huser, Altoona; and Rose Mitchell, West Des Moines. The commission will be co-chaired by Iowa DOT Director Nancy Richardson, who plans to retire next month, and Alan Thoms, a former chairman of the Iowa Utilities Board.
