MidAmerican Energy Co. has named Kelcey Brown as its new president and CEO effective Jan. 26. The move coincided with Pacific Gas and Electric Co. naming Brown’s predecessor, Adam Wright, as its executive vice president of operations and chief operating officer, effective Feb. 1. PG&E made the announcement via Businesswire. MidAmerican did not issue a public release on Wright’s departure or on Brown’s being named as its new leader, but confirmed the moves in a call with the Business Record late this afternoon. Wright was named president and CEO of MidAmerican in January 2018. He joined MidAmerican in 2012 to lead the expansion and operations of the company’s wind generation fleet. In 2015, he took over the company’s gas delivery operation. Brown comes to MidAmerican from Portland, Ore.-based PacifiCorp, another Berkshire Hathaway company, where she most recently served as vice president of energy supply management.
