The Science Center of Iowa (SCI) on Oct. 4 will feature a Café Scientifique presentation on “The Athletic Heart” by Des Moines University professor Julia Moffitt, who will speak on how the cardiovascular system performs during exercise. Her presentation, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in Founders Hall at SCI, will include a live demonstration of an electrocardiogram with a trained endurance athlete. The free presentation is one of several health-related events offered by SCI during its final month of Body Worlds Vital, which ends Oct. 31.
