Des Moines City Manager Scott Sanders has narrowed the field of 18 applicants for the city’s police chief position to four. The final four are Michael Davis, police chief of Northeastern University in Boston; Allen Tunks, police captain with the Des Moines Police Department; Stephen Waymire, police major with the Des Moines Police Department; and Dana Wingert, police major with the Des Moines Police Department. The formal interview process will take place Jan. 28-29 and will include a city tour, public reception and interviews with community stakeholders and union leaders.
