Car wash turns into coffee shop, youth training center
Work is beginning on Freedom for Youth Ministries’ Freedom Blend Coffee Cabin, set to open in the spring in a former car wash. The coffee shop will employ disadvantaged youths as a training center. A groundbreaking is planned for 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the shop at 2301 Hickman Road. Workers will learn about waiting tables, food preparation, running a cash register, inventory and accounting.
