The Iowa Biotechnology Association announced that Jill Zullo, global managing director of bio-intermediates at Cargill Bioindustrial, is the recipient of the 2023 Biotech Leader Award. Zullo was selected to receive the award by a panel of industry experts. The award is given to an individual who has demonstrated leadership within their organization and across the industry, an ability to bring innovative biotechnology products and services to the marketplace, and a commitment to advocate on behalf of Iowa’s life science sectors. “We are thrilled to recognize an outstanding leader for the 2023 Iowa Biotech Leader Award,” IowaBio Executive Director Jessica Hyland said in a prepared statement. “Dr. Zullo promotes the biotech industry both on a national and global stage. Dr. Zullo received her PhD at Iowa State University and has gone on to deliver results and advance the biotechnology and ag-tech sector so critical to Iowa’s economy.”
