Catholic Charities, Diocese of Des Moines, will celebrate 100 years of providing service to people in central and southwest Iowa. In mid-September, the organization embarked on its yearlong celebration toward a 100-year legacy and shared its vision for the future. To mark the milestone, Catholic Charities released a 20-minute video featuring Catholic Charities’ clients, leaders, volunteers, community partners and staff sharing messages about hope and impact. Since 1924, Catholic Charities has offered individuals and families various services, including counseling, an emergency family shelter, a food pantry and refugee services. Catholic Charities also announced a new fundraising initiative. The Catholic Charities Centennial Fund is designed to help innovate and expand all of its program areas to better address the ever-changing needs of the people it serves.
