CBRE releases third-quarter office market report

In the past year, average asking lease rates for the Greater Des Moines area’s office market have dropped 3.5% to $13.27 per square foot, according to CBRE Inc.’s third-quarter market report. A year ago, asking lease rates averaged $13.76 per square foot. Average asking lease rates in the Central Business District, with a 16.2% vacancy rate, were $14.26 per square foot in the third quarter; in West Des Moines and Clive, where vacancy rates were 12.1%, the asking lease rate averaged $12.76. A year ago, asking lease rates in downtown Des Moines averaged $17.74; in West Des Moines and Clive, $16.74. The area’s highest average asking lease rates in the third quarter were in Waukee at $16.50 per square foot. A year ago, the rates averaged $19.61 per square foot. The Des Moines area’s overall vacancy rate in the third quarter was 13.2%, according to the CBRE report. To read the report, click here.
