Paige Jaeger will serve as chief operating officer, and Katie Wengert will serve as senior vice president of external relations and development, a newly created role on the executive team. The current COO, David McKenzie, will retire in June after 30 years with the organization. In her role as COO, Jaeger will oversee program operations for ChildServe, including inpatient and outpatient programs and services, regional locations, and autism and community-based services. She previously served as vice president of operations for UnityPoint Health Des Moines. As SVP of external relations and development, Wengert aims to advance organizational strategy through external relations, public relations, marketing and communications, referral relations and fundraising. Wengert most recently was chief strategy officer of Innovative Radiology & Total Health Experience, where she supported Dr. John Tentinger in the development of a new imaging center in West Des Moines. “This is an exciting period of change and growth for ChildServe. We’re incredibly grateful to David for sharing his time, talent and expertise with us for more than three decades and also excited to move forward in the next chapter of ChildServe’s history,” Teri Wahlig, ChildServe CEO, said in a prepared statement. “Coupling the expertise of our tenured leadership team with fresh perspectives, I’m certain ChildServe is poised for continued success.”
