Based in Delaware, Corteva formed after the 2019 merger of Dow and DuPont and operates labs and seed operations in Johnston and throughout Iowa. The appointment was announced Thursday in a release saying Magro will replace the retiring Jim Collins. Magro’s most recent role was as CEO of Nutrien, a Canadian fertilizer company that resulted from a merger of PotashCorp and Agrium. He also led Agrium as CEO for four years before the merger. “During nearly a decade of strong leadership at Nutrien and its predecessor Agrium, Chuck led the creation and integration of the world’s largest crop inputs, services, and solutions company and established a culture with a clear commitment to operational excellence and advancing sustainable agriculture solutions,” Greg Page, independent chairman of Corteva, said in the release. Collins will assist with the transition before retiring at the end of this year. He served in management roles at DuPont for 20 years before leading Corteva during its first two years as an independent company.
