City of Des Moines debuts live skyline camera with unique downtown views
The city of Des Moines is sharing a new live view of the downtown skyline and other downtown attractions. It has installed a sky cam on top of City Hall at 400 Robert D. Ray Drive that is continuously streaming on the city’s YouTube channel. City staff captured a time lapse of the first early sunset after daylight saving time ended and will use the camera to capture and share video and time lapses of major weather systems as they pass through the downtown area, including live views of snow removal. It will also capture events in the area, the Women of Achievement Bridge, the Brenton Skating Plaza and the Capitol dome. To view the camera stream, visit the city’s YouTube channel.
