The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines announced that it has received two grants totaling $20,000 from the Iowa Arts Council and The National Endowment for the Arts. The funds will be used to support the launch of a Dance Series at affordable prices, Civic Center President and CEO Jeff Chelesvig said “These grants provide the leadership support we need to bring some of the nation’s top dance companies to Central Iowa,” Chelesvig said in a release. The series begins tonight with “Pilobolus.” The Martha Graham Dance Company and the James Sewell Ballet are also part of the series, with ticket prices ranging from $25 to $55.
