Civic Music Association announces schedule

Civic Music Association has announced a 2011-2012 season that includes classical, jazz and folk music. Classical will be covered by the Emerson Quartet and the Oasis Quartet, which includes local musicians Dave Camwell and Jim Romain. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band kicks off the concert season on Sept. 23. Also on the jazz schedule are Karrin Allyson and Pancho Sanchez & His Latin Jazz Band. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center will present “Folk Traditions,” which draws on the folk music of Eastern Europe. Civic Music Association season subscriptions and memberships are on sale and can be purchased through the Civic Music Association office, 1620 Pleasant St., Suite 244 in Sherman Hill, by calling 280-4020 or at www.civicmusic.org. Discount prices are available for new subscribers and past subscribers purchasing prior to May 1. In addition, past subscribers will receive a bonus two tickets to any concert with an early-bird subscription purchase. Single tickets go on sale in  August.
