A coalition of 27 organizations is pushing for a moratorium on new hog confinements and a tighter set of rules on pollution from the hog confinements, the Quad-City Times reportedIndependent Sen. David Johnson has introduced 15 bills to change the state’s system for approving hog confinements. Sen. Ken Rozenboom, chairman of the Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee, wasn’t buying them. “I don’t think a moratorium is an answer,” Rozenboom told reporters.
