Colleges and clinics get federal dollars
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded three grants totaling $1,047,754 to Iowa colleges and clinics. Drake University will receive $396,000 for health professionals programs, Free Clinics of Iowa in Des Moines will receive $346,500 for mandated health care projects and the University of Iowa will receive $305,254 for infant behavioral state development research. The grants were announced Tuesday by Sen. Charles Grassley.
