The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines has announced the recipients of $60,000 worth of its Organizational Effectiveness Grants. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa, ChildServe, CULTUREALL, the Des Moines Area Religious Council, Employee & Family Resources Inc., FreeStore, HOME Inc., Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, Iowa Legal Aid, Metro Arts Alliance, the Mid-Eastern Council on Chemical Abuse, the Polk County Housing Continuum, Salisbury House & Gardens, StageWest Theater Company, and Youth Emergency Services & Shelter of Iowa will share a total of $60,000, which is intended to help the nonprofit organizations strengthen their governing boards, streamline operations and explore future opportunities.
