Construction is expected to begin this summer on a 130-unit, 180,000-square-foot independent living retirement complex that will be located at 850 S. 60th St. in West Des Moines. Resort Life Communities, headquartered in Lincoln, Neb. is developing the $30 million project called Glen Meadows. The facility will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments as well as studio-sized units. The facility will offer chef-prepared meals, weekly housekeeping, concierge services and valet parking. A groundbreaking for the project is scheduled at 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at 1401 Glen Oaks Drive in West Des Moines.
