Construction spending up for month, down year-over-year
Spending on private nonresidential construction increased 1.8 percent in March from February, according to yesterday’s report by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Year over year, spending has dropped 10.2 percent. Total nonresidential construction on spending was $531.1 billion in March, up 0.9 percent from the previous month but down 6.1 percent from the same time a year ago. Total construction spending grew 1.4 percent in March but dropped 6.7 percent year-over-year.
