County officials sworn into office
The Polk County Board of Supervisors elected John Mauro, 4th District Supervisor, as its new chairperson and Angela Connolly, 5th District Supervisor, as vice-chairperson for 2011 in the first official public meeting of the new year. Other Polk County elected officials also received their oath of office today. Recorder Julie Haggerty began serving her second term; County Attorney John Sarcone began serving his sixth term and Treasurer Mary Maloney began serving her seventh term. 3rd District Supervisor Tom Hockensmith began his third term, Mauro his fifth and Connolly her fourth.
