Crop insurance aid available in Iowa
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig said a state program will pay farmers a $5 per acre premium reduction on crop insurance in 2019 if they plant cover crops and are not receiving cost shares. This is the second year of the program. More than 700 farmers used cover crops on nearly 170,000 acres last fall.
