Passenger traffic at Des Moines International Airport increased 3.8 percent year-over-year in 2017, the Des Moines Airport Authority announced Thursday. Last year the airport handled 2,568,308 passengers, with each month but September seeing passenger increases over the year-ago period. The rate of growth is consistent with past years, but is inching ever closer to the existing airport facilities’ maximum capacity, airport officials said.
