Dan Winters, who recently left WHO-TV, where he had been a reporter and weekend anchor, has been hired as vice president of communications and public affairs for BHE Renewables, according to Winters’ LinkedIn page. Winters had been at WHO 13 for 18 years. Winters, in several interviews about his departure, said he left television news so he could spend more time at home in the evenings with his family. BHE Renewables, headquartered in Des Moines, is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, which owns one of the largest renewable portfolios in the U.S. BHE Renewables was developed to oversee unregulated solar, wind, hydro and geothermal projects, according to its online bio. Winters announced his new position earlier this week in the LinkedIn post.
