The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs will award more than $2 million in grants to 159 organizations, project and individuals, in order to strengthen quality of life and cultural vitality across Iowa. The grants are awarded through the Iowa Arts Council and the State Historical Society of Iowa. Grants will fund cultural institutions, art projects, education programs and artist fellowships, and to communities that are working to improve their sense of place, and to preserve, conserve, interpret and educate the public about documentary collections, historic preservation, museums and country schools, and to create research articles.
