Deere & Co. announced today that its net income for its fiscal second quarter, which ended April 30, rose to $2.61 a share, up from $2.12 per share last year.

Bloomberg cited high crop prices in the last three years as the main factor for Deere’s increase, as farmers generated more revenue. Deere, the largest agriculture manufacturer in the world, hopes to continue to expand its reach to China and Brazil with the goal of $50 billion in sales by 2018.
