Delta Dental of Iowa contributes $50,000 for five Mini-Pitch soccer sites
Delta Dental of Iowa has contributed $50,000 to Kick It Forward, a nonprofit that strives to develop athletic and life skills through soccer. Kick It Forward works with local communities to bring Mini-Pitch soccer fields to Iowa communities. A Mini-Pitch is a small, galvanized steel futsal-style soccer space that can transform abandoned courts and other underutilized spaces into places where individuals can be physically active. Delta Dental’s contribution will support costs associated with securing and installing the Mini-Pitch System, which is designed, engineered and manufactured by Oskaloosa-based Musco Lighting. Five Mini-Pitch sites will each receive $10,000 toward their overall fundraising goals: Progress Park, Hampton; Lincoln Elementary School, Pella; Pella Christian High School, Pella; Chautauqua Park, Storm Lake; and Riverside Park, Sioux City. “Kick It Forward is passionate about ensuring everyone in a community has the opportunity to be active,” Matt Sahag, founder of Kick It Forward, said. The Mini-Pitches will be installed over the next few months. For more information on Kick It Forward and the Mini-Pitch System go to kifsoccer.com.
