Demolition begins on Waterloo dog track

Deer Creek Development, which purchased the 64-acre track site from the National Cattle Congress, plans retail and hotel development on the site. The $6 million track opened in October 1986. It filed for bankruptcy in 1993 and halted live racing a year later.
