Des Moines asks for help cleaning Gray’s Lake
The flood left a big mess at Gray’s Lake, right before the July 4 holiday. The city of Des Moines is seeking volunteers help clean the popular recreation area so it can be reopened. Volunteers age 18 and older are needed to pick up debris today through 7 p.m., and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The city will provide tools. Check in at the concession stand area.
