On Oct. 7, the Des Moines Plan and Zoning Commission recommended that a request to rezone a parcel at 320 S.W. Ninth St. to a planned unit development from a mixed-use residential district be approved. South Dakota-based Quest Development & Construction Inc. made the request, which, if approved by the City Council, would allow for the development of two four-story hotels on the site. The council will consider the matter, including a review of a conceptual plan for the proposed development, at its Oct. 25 meeting.
