Des Moines Cold Storage plans to build a $17 million cold storage and distribution plant in the Southeast Agrimergent Technology Park at Southeast 43rd Street and Vandalia Road, north of the Des Moines River, The Des Moines Register reported. The new project, called Crossroads Cold Storage, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of the family-owned company. The Crossroads project will include a 111,000-square-foot building that will have more than 4 million cubic feet of storage space, said company President John Paul Muelhaupt. It will also be the new headquarters for Des Moines Cold Storage.
