Des Moines food truck program extended
The Des Moines City Council on Monday approved a three-month extension for a food truck pilot program that was scheduled to end this month, The Des Moines Register reported. The council likely will vote in January on a permanent ordinance allowing on-street food vendors. So far, 25 vendors have joined the local food truck association. A food truck festival earlier this month drew roughly 10,000 people to Western Gateway Park, with 23 vendors averaging about 500 orders.
