The Des Moines Public Library will reduce its current in-person services as a result of increasing COVID-19 spread in Polk County, DMPL announced on Thursday. Beginning Nov. 17, in-person DMPL Express services, including browsing and public computer usage, will temporarily end at the East Side, Forest Avenue, North Side and South Side locations. Curbside pickup will be available during regular operation hours. At Central Library, browsing and inside holds pickup will no longer be available, and the use of public computer sessions will require appointments. At Franklin Avenue, study rooms will no longer be available for reservations. All changes will run through at least Nov. 30. Ongoing updates are available online.
