Des Moines Menace to host second round of U.S. Open Cup

The Des Moines Menace, a pre-professional soccer club competing in USL League Two, defeated Sporting KC II, 2-1, behind two penalty kicks from team captain Sacha Kljestan last week in Kansas City. The Menace will host the second-round match against defending USL League One champions Union Omaha at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines on April 2 at 7:30 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative Menace cowbell. “We are playing at home at the Valley. I think we are going to pack that stadium out,” Kljestan said. “We play against Union Omaha, the same team that beat us last season in the Open Cup. We’ve got revenge on our minds.” For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Des Moines Menace website.
