Kelly K. Shrock was recently hired as the executive director of the Des Moines Public Library Foundation. She previously held the role of president at the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County in Indiana. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and social work from Ball State University and has a master’s degree in higher education administration from Miami University. Her previous work with donors, nonprofits, community volunteers and civic leaders for the community’s benefit translates well to the goals of the Des Moines Public Library Foundation, a press release said. Shrock said she’s “excited to continue the tradition of advancing the library and access to all of the library’s resources to everyone in our community.” She started in her role on Oct. 5. She succeeds Dory Briles, who retired from the position earlier this year.
