Des Moines Public Library to hold forum for director candidates

The Des Moines Public Library has announced four finalists in its search for a new director. The candidates are Adam Brooks, sales consultant for library software company ByWater Solutions; Mary Ellen Icaza, assistant director for programs and outreach at Montgomery County Public Libraries in Rockville, Md.; Michael Steinmacher, director of Barr Memorial Library, Fort Knox, Ky.; and Sue Woody, community engagement librarian for the Des Moines Public Library. The library will host a public candidate forum as part of the process of selecting a new director, on June 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Central Library’s meeting room wing. The public forum is part of a two-day interview process organized by Bradbury Miller Associates, an executive search firm based in Kansas City. More information on the candidates can be found here.
