The Des Moines Public Library’s annual Authors Visiting in Des Moines (AViD) speaker series will return this spring. Visiting authors include James Patterson and Joyce Carol Oates. The series kicks off with acclaimed poet Kaveh Akbar on March 21, followed by James Patterson on April 10, and bestselling authors Gregg Hurwitz and Nick Petrie on May 2. The season concludes on June 13 with popular romance author Jasmine Guillory. All AViD events are free, supported by the Des Moines Public Library Foundation, and open to the public.
