Beaverdale Estates, a Holiday by Atria independent living community, has started a renovation of its facility located at 4610 Douglas Ave. in Des Moines. The project will install new flooring, updated kitchenettes with modern cabinets, sinks and counters and enhanced bathrooms in each of the facility’s apartments, according to a news release. Communal spaces, such as the game lounge, living room, atrium and dining room, will receive energy-efficient lighting and advanced audio-visual capabilities. An expanded fitness center. The updates are expected to be completed by spring 2024. “For us, this will feel like an ‘extreme makeover’ to create new and enhanced ways for our residents to stay active, build new friendships and enjoy what inspires them,” Tina Overton, general manager, said in a prepared statement. Other Holiday by Atria communities in the region are receiving an investment in capital upgrades, including Holiday Illahee Hills in Urbandale, the release said.
