Des Moines to help with sustainability efforts
Des Moines joins eight other cities as beta communities for the STAR Community Index sustainability-rating system.
The communities will collaborate with ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability to try to design performance management software that will allow cities and counties to more effectively manage their sustainability efforts.
STAR, developed by ICLEI, is designed to provide cities with a framework of how to manage their sustainability efforts, looking at the environment, economy and social equity.
