Des Moines University chooses president finalists
Des Moines University (DMU) officials on Monday announced three finalists to fill the medical school’s president position. The three candidates selected are Stephen Dengle, DMU’s current interim president and chief operating officer; Angela Franklin, executive vice president and provost at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn.; and Eugene “Gene” Meyer, commissioner for the Iowa Department of Public Safety. A search committee has been working to fill the position since the retirement of former Gov. Terry Branstad in October 2009. The three finalists will visit the campus and offer a presentation to employees and students in the next few weeks.
