On Des Moines’ East Side, Kemin Industries Inc. is developing plans for a new research laboratory that will serve as the focal point for the global company’s new-product development. The 44,000-square-foot research and development center is part of a planned $30 million expansion that Kemin announced last year that will bring all of its Greater Des Moines employees onto one campus within the next five years.
