DMACC Alumni Association honors six graduates for achievements
The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Alumni Association presented awards to former DMACC students in a recent ceremony.
College President Rob Denson took part in the event honoring the recipients.
• David Hade of Ames, co-owner of Iowa Home Crafters of Ames, was named the recipient of the DMACC Outstanding Alumni Award representing the industry and technology department at DMACC’s Ankeny campus.
• Lorene Harris of Ankeny was named the recipient of the DMACC Outstanding Alumni Award representing the health and public services department. Harris is a nursing professor at the DMACC Ankeny campus.
• Holly Hunter of Ankeny was named a DMACC Alumni Association Early Achievement Award recipient. Hunter works as a dental hygienist in Ames and is active in numerous organizations.
• Chris Mann of Melcher was named the 2011 DMACC Alumni Association Impact Award recipient. Mann works full time as a training supervisor at ALMACO in Nevada and also teaches credit welding classes at the DMACC Ankeny campus.
• Todd Razor of Des Moines was named a DMACC Alumni Association Early Achievement Award recipient. He graduated from the DMACC Urban campus in 2008 and is now a reporter at the Business Record.
• Mitchel Sellers of Urbandale was named the recipient of the DMACC Outstanding Alumni Award representing the business management and information technology department at DMACC’s Ankeny campus. Sellers is the CEO of Iowa Computer Gurus in Urbandale and lead software architect for Our Bond Inc.
