The Des Moines Area Community College Foundation is allocating $2 million for scholarships in fiscal year 2023, surpassing the $1.7 million awarded in scholarships during the 2022 fiscal year. The foundation works with individual donors, local businesses and support organizations to fund scholarships. Over the course of its 50-year history, the foundation’s program has served tens of thousands of students, according to a release. “The $2 million scholarship allocation is a reflection of the generosity of numerous donors who believe in creating access to DMACC’s high quality education and training,” DMACC Foundation Executive Director Tara Connolly said. “It has been a privilege to serve in the capacity of the executive director of the DMACC Foundation for the last 11 years and witness the growth and impact of the DMACC Foundation Scholarship program.”
