DMACC hires academic dean of business and IT for Ankeny campus

154 wordsAll Latest News, Education, Key Leadership ChangesDes Moines Area Community College announced that Anne Power has been hired as a new academic dean of business and information technology at the college’s Ankeny campus. Power comes to DMACC from Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., where she served as the dean of the School of Business and Technology, and oversaw the business and economics, computer technology and information systems, and technology and applied sciences departments. She also previously worked at Morningside College in Sioux City as an associate professor of business and as chair of the Department of Accounting and Business. Power’s role at DMACC will focus on forming industry partnerships to ensure a skilled workforce in the region. Power earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Iowa, an MBA in information systems from the University of South Dakota and a Ph.D. in higher education administration and leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
