Des Moines Area Community College and Iowa Wesleyan University this morning signed an innovative agreement to offer the first RN-BSN 3+1 bachelor of science in nursing completion program in the state. As a result of the agreement, DMACC nursing graduates will be able to complete their BSN degrees in one year online, allowing them to stay in Central Iowa and work. Also, students will have access to financial aid opportunities through the Iowa Tuition Grant program. DMACC Nursing Education Director Kendra Ericson said the program will offer a seamless pathway to the RN-BSN in which all DMACC nursing credits will be accepted. DMACC offers nursing at its Ankeny, Boone, Carroll and Newton campuses, and at the DMACC Capitol Complex in Des Moines.
